At the start of 2012 Abacus.fm undertook a major expanison of our channels, increasing from 8 to 20 channels.
Our eventual aim is to add additional channels during 2012 and end the year with a bouquet of at least 30 Classical, Jazz and Old Time Radio services.
Abacus.fm depends entirely upon its listeners to cover our $100 a day operating budget. Despite many listeners making donations, we started the 2012 with an operating deficit of some $ 32,000
Over the last five months we have managed to reduce that amount and currently have an outstanding deficit of $11,600 and would really like to clear that bank debt before the close of June.
That is ambitious however if the station is to move forward and introduce more music channels before the close of 2012, we really do need to clear our existing operating debt at the bank.
Please consider helping Abacus.fm raise the $11,600 shortfall by making a special contribution. We have plans to launch at least 10 more music channels, upgrade the website and introduce listening Apps for iphone, Nokia etc., As part of the website re-design we also propose introducing video and discussion forums etc.,
Without the ongoing support of our listeners, Abacus.fm would cease to exist and we thank you for standing with us in meeting our goals for the second half of 2012.
